Pad Car has completed a multitude of projects in the field of institutional construction and truly understands the commitments required for this type of specific construction and sector.
Schools, hospitals, and senior facility upgrades, new construction, P3 builds, and retrofits.
Often, these projects have defined requirements where either they are major mechanical upgrades to boiler rooms or major equipment completed during minimum times with tight deadlines for completion and commissioning.
Institutional projects can have unique and diverse requirements within the same projects, from laboratories, dining facilities, resident spaces, operatories, diagnostic rooms, intensive care and recovery rooms, classrooms, and shops to sports programs.
Projects such as the Medicine Hat Hospital have incorporated all of the skills at Pad Car in large multi-year and phased projects in a critical environment was part of the project and required strict quality assurance, planning and life critical shutdowns. In this single project alone, being an active hospital, the main boiler/steam plant, compressed air, control systems, fire protection systems, ventilation systems, emergency power systems and medical gas systems were all majorly impacted and integrated into the construction process stages.

Medicine Hat Regional Hospital
Pre-designed multi-year, phased expansion, renovation/modernization project for the Energy Centre Ventilation. Installed comprehensive mechanical systems, encompassing hydronic heating and chilled water systems, plumbing, medical gas, ventilation equipment, ducting, and negative pressure rooms. Subcontractor services included mechanical controls, mechanical insulation, and fire protection.

Medicine Hat College Power Engineering Technology Centre
Addition of a power engineering lab, expansion of the health, wellness, and athletics facilities (Phase 1), and renovation and expansion of the trades wing. Pre-designed comprehensive mechanical systems were installed, covering plumbing and gas, hydronic heating, chilled water, roof-mounted air handlers for building ventilation, vehicle exhaust systems, shop makeup air, and compressed welding gas lines. Subcontractor services included mechanical controls, mechanical insulation, and fire protection.

Comprehensive mechanical design for a continuing care facility in Calgary, with the installation of complete mechanical systems. Additionally, subcontractor services were engaged to provide mechanical controls, mechanical insulation, and fire protection.
